Friends,

When we launched the Provincial Times, we promised a different kind of journalism; one that answers to you, not to lobbyists, party bosses, or the cozy Ottawa press gallery. Today, we’re making good on that promise in a concrete, no-nonsense way.

Three new pages are now live on our site!

The new pages we've created are designed to do one thing: let you see how we operate and hold us to account without apology.

The FAQ Page

As the editor of this site, I get asked a lot of questions by readers and critics alike:

“Who funds you guys?”

“How do you handle anonymous sources?”

“Do you publish press releases as news?”

On our new FAQ page, we lay out our editorial independence in black and white and explain how we accept travel to cover events but never sell coverage. If you've ever wondered what rules actually govern the journalism you read, the answers are now a click away. No other independent news outlet in this country makes transparency this straightforward.

The Complaint Form

Our new formal complaint process lets any reader flag factual errors, unfair framing, or ethical lapses. Fill out the form, cite the article, and the I will personally review it. Every complaint is read. Every legitimate concern is weighed.

The Editorial Endorsements Index

When the Provincial Times takes a side, we own it. Our endorsement page lists every candidate, campaign, and party position we've backed, along with the author and full reasoning. We publish our record so you can scrutinize it, criticize it, and judge for yourself whether our reasoning holds up.

Transparency means nothing if you can't see the full ledger. You give us your trust and, sometimes, your money. In return, we give you the information, the standards, and the mechanisms to keep us honest.

Canadians are tired of being talked down to by an unaccountable right-wing establishment media that hides its biases behind corporate branding and smug editorials. At the Provincial Times, we answer to you directly, openly, and in plain language.

Read the FAQ.
Use the complaint form.
Examine our endorsement record.

And then hold us to the same high standard we hold everyone else.

My very best,
— Will Adams
Editor, The Provincial Times
