Friends,

As you know, I try to show up where decisions are being made, where power is on display, and where real conversations (or spectacles) happen. That's why I want to cover Ford Fest in late June.

For those unfamiliar, Ford Fest is Ontario Premier Doug Ford's annual summer barbecue. It's part picnic, part political rally, and a fascinating window into Ontario's brand of populism, which I have not covered in the same way I have with the federal Conservative Party. I want to be there to watch, listen, and report back on what actually happens when thousands of people show up for a beer and a handshake with the Premier.

Here's the catch: I need to get there. And right now, I can't afford to.

So I'm asking: Can you chip in?

If 50 of you give $10, I'm there. If 100 people give $5, the same result. No amount is too small. This isn’t a perk or a pledge drive, it's an honest request from a writer who wants to cover something important and can't quite swing it alone.

If you can't give, I truly understand. Sharing this email with one person who might help means just as much.

I'll document everything—the crowds, the speeches, the lawn signs, the vibe. And everyone who contributes will get a month free trial to the "Jagmeet Singh's Pension" tier of the Provincial Times.

More soon, hopefully from the barbecue.

Yours,
— Will Adams
