Hey everyone!
If you’ve been cruising the site lately, you might have noticed we’ve been busy buffing out the dings and polishing the chrome. Things are looking a little different around here, and I’m not just talking about a fresh coat of paint!
Our old tag system? Total blowout. What started as a way to keep things organized turned into a tangled mess of redundant labels, hyper-specific categories, and tags that were gathering dust with only one or two posts in them.
It was getting harder to find the good stuff under all that hood. So, we decided to streamline the engine. The Provincial Times has officially overhauled our navigation to make the ride smoother, cleaner, and way easier to cruise.
What’s changed under the hood?
Instead of a bunch of tiny, squeaky categories, we’ve moved everything into high-octane "hubs." Here’s the new schematic:
- Regional: No more hunting through a pile of individual province tags. All the local and regional reports are now parked in one convenient pit stop.
- Social Issues: We’ve consolidated topics like LGBTQ rights, reconciliation, and freedom of expression and policy into one turbo-charged category to give you a clearer picture of the road ahead.
- Opinion & Editorials: We’ve merged these into one section for commentary and analysis. This is where we kick the tires and see if the whole thing runs.
- Elections & Conventions: A dedicated garage for everything related to the races and rallies that'll shape our route.
Why this overhaul matters
By cutting the PORK, our team can spend less time micromanaging the toolbox and more time on the actual reporting and commentary you came to our website for.
The mission’s always been the same: to provide a clear, focused lens on the stories that matter. This new structure ensures the site’s engine is purring with that mission.
Take a spin around the new layout and let me know what you think! The feedback’s always appreciated.
As always, thanks for ridin’ with us,
